The Seminole Cultural Arts Theatre, was incorporated in April 1997 to respond to the City of Homestead’s Request for Proposal (RFP) and selected by the City as a public-private partner on the theatre restoration project; a multi-cultural performing arts and educational complex.
Currently comprised as a Board of Directors, Executive Director, and community volunteers, the Seminole Cultural Arts Theatre is on a fast track to restoring our precious theatre.

Objectives

• To rebuild and to reopen the present hurricane-damaged Seminole Theatre and adjacent two-story building.

• To present a wide variety of cultural and educational activities for the public.

• To offer a state-of-the art performance facility with a multiplicity of community and regional functions and events.

• To enhance the cultural awareness of our community and the South Dade County/Upper Monroe County region.

• To serve as a resource to bring together the dynamic and diverse populations who visit and reside in South Florida.

• To aid in the economic development of downtown Homestead and the entire South Dade/Upper Keys region.

Experience in recent years across America has shown the dramatic impact of cultural facilities - particularly performing arts centers - on revitalizing declining or stagnating communities. A well-managed performing arts center that offers a diversity of programming, on an ongoing basis, is a central force to attract investment in other leisure-time enterprises: hotels and motels, restaurants and retail shops.
