Resident Repertory Company
A resident graduate student classical repertory company, presented in conjunction with Florida International University, will offer a year-long practicum for theatre students working for their Masters of Fine Arts degree. The work of classical American and European playwrights such as Shakespeare, Ibsen, O’Neill, Tennessee Williams, and Hemingway, will be presented in repertory at the Seminole Theatre four times each year in 8 to 12 performances. The company will then take the series of classical productions on tour for 5 or 6 weeks to communities in Central and South Florida.

Theatre and Arts Education
It is anticipated that the Seminole Theatre will be used as a working laboratory and performance space for the Homestead Campus of Miami-Dade College Theatre Arts Program.

Retail Operations
The Theatre’s concession/food service area opens onto Losner Park, and thus will be operated as a public-use snack shop even during the hours when a production or program is not on stage. The Seminole Theatre complex includes the adjacent two-story building on the Theatre’s south side. It will house offices, dressing rooms, rehearsal hall studio, and storage areas. Its size is sufficient to meet the theatre’s needs with the possibility of renting or contracting a portion of the 2nd floor - including the north terrace that overlooks Krome Avenue - for ongoing or occasional catering or other food service operations.

Long-range Plans
Long-range plans for the Seminole Theatre include: the institution of a program to train “at-risk” high school students in the technical and management aspects of the theatre; and the establishment of the “Wiggle Club” - an innovative series of productions across the spectrum of the performing arts to introduce preschoolers to the magic of theatre, puppetry, music and dance - while teaching audience etiquette at the same time.
